About the Youth Travel Card
In order to encourage international youth to explore Taiwan, and promote the culture of learning through travel, the National Youth Commission, Executive Yuan has introduced a travel discount card for youth's exclusive use. The service is particularly coordinated with public departments and travel-related businesses by the National Youth Commission to form a preferential network, divided into five areas, northern, central, southern, eastern Taiwan and outlying islands, which provide discount information on admission tickets, accommodation, transportation, snacks and shopping. More than 900 travel discounts enable youth to use limited funding to maximize their enjoyment when exploring Taiwan . Any international youth who is 15 to 30 years old may show the valid identity documents (limited to application in person) at youth volunteer centers of the National Youth Commission in counties and cities and at tourist service center counters in Taoyuan and Kaohsiung international airports, and the tourism bureau's tourist service centers (main railway stations, MRT stations and airports) to obtain a free card on the spot. In order to let the young friends control the budget momentarily when traveling, when issuing the youth travel card, the National Youth Commission edits and prints the relevant discounts into the youth travel discount information handbook presented together with the card for youth to bring and facilitate to check and save money.
